Sip & Pour Candle Making Class at SLKC 4/26/25 4-5:30pm
Step into the world of candle making with Urban Nomad, Kansas City’s own local candle company, in this fun, hands-on workshop! Whether you’re new to the craft or a seasoned candle enthusiast, our instructor-led class will guide you through the process of creating your very own custom-scented 16oz coconut soy candle.

In this interactive class, hosted by Kierra Washington owner/maker behind Urban Nomad, you’ll learn the art of candle making in a relaxed, creative atmosphere. Begin by choosing from a variety of premium fragrances, each selected for their clean, natural qualities, and blend them into your perfect scent. Kierra will walk you through the steps, from melting and pouring the wax to blending fragrances and ensuring a smooth, even finish.
Once your candle is poured, you’ll have time to mingle, enjoy light refreshments, and sip on sparkling beverages and shop the curated space of Shop Local KC while your candle cools. It’s a fantastic way to unwind, meet new people, and tap into your creativity!
MOM & ME Mother’s Day jewelry Making Class 5/3/25 10am - 12pm at Craft Club KC next to Shop Local KC in Brookside
Spend a fun morning, just in time for Mothers Day, making jewelry with your kiddo in this mom & me jewelry class with Hazel & Ollie. Kiddos will make a fun necklace using Hazel & Ollie craft kits, as well as a name friendship bracelet. Moms will make a pair (or two) of acrylic earrings. Emily Walters, owner and designer at Hazel & Ollie, will take you through the process, and be on hand to help with your jewelry creations.
What’s included:
Each ticket includes one adult and one child. Additional children can be added for an extra charge (see below).
Hazel & Ollie craft kits for your kiddo;
Lots of fun beads for name bracelets;
Supplies for making your own acrylic earring designs;
All tools needed for creating your pieces;
Sweet treats and refreshments;
All ages welcome, but we recommend ages 3+ as small pieces can be a choking hazard.

Hanging Flower Frame Class at SLKC 5/3/25 1-4 pm
Join Magpie Creative Reuse Collective and Lost and Found Design to make a hanging flower frame. Compose your image with a combination of collage images and pressed flowers, then Tara will teach you how to solder your frame and add a hanging chain.

Meet Your Teacher
Tara Tonsor is the owner and artist behind Lost & Found Design. She loves creating order from chaos, or is it the other way around? Nature's gifts of wood, metal, and stone are the materials she uses in her work - hammering, painting, assembling, and connecting each part in a playful Lost & Found way. You can find Tara as a member of the Cherry Pit Collective.

MOTHER’s DAY Earring Making Class with flora.bee.kc at SLKC 5/4/25 12-3 pm
Join us to create one-of-a-kind floral earrings made with real flowers. This is a perfect mother/daughter class to get creative together or a way to create a unique mother's day gift to give to that special mom in your life. During this class you’ll learn the process of preserving flowers in resin. Elizabeth Sims Dansel of flora.bee.kc, will guide you through the process of creating your own floral resin earrings.
